The tank map is a sort of collections of other parts of mods that Zoo and I toyed around with. The primary purpose was to make a map that featured tanks as the main vehicle. Though this purpose has morphed, the tanks are still prominent in the map.
Changes to existing Soldier Classes: First off I took out the bren. I understand that MANY players prefer to fight with the bren, but that is precisely why it is not in the map. At any given time there are 3 or 4 maps that feature bren focused infantry maps. So the purpose of losing the bren was to encourage the use of other classes in the game. Secondly, I used Zoo's code to add jetpacks to the anti-tank classes on both teams. This has got to be the biggest gimmick of the map, but it is a lot of fun to see several people flying around having an infantry battle with zooks. The one unexpected result is that adding "human natters" (as Zoo calls them) has done is make the Tanks a lot less powerful. Thirdly, I used more of Zoo's code to increase the anti-tank rate of fire and amount of ammo. Fourth, I added nitro to the jeeps to give players a quick escape from all the tanks. I added code to keep the jeep from taking damage from from crashing into things. The unexpected result here is that the jeep now makes a great kamikaze. Fifth, in an update I rearranged the kits. Both teams have their respective AT kit, the German sniper kit, the Allied med kit, and both of the engineer kits.
Added Objects to follow... Updates - 18 Feb 08 OK, I added a couple of changes: Sniper Roosts at hellendoorn, allied airfield and block house. Death Bubble (thx ZOO) and both main bases, this currently only effects tanks operated by the enemy in those locations. (I may turn the soldier kill on too at some point.) Extra ammo box on axis hill overlooking hellen. MG's to mark the large bridge from hellen to the dome.
